Elazar Tamano

Elazar Tamano is a chef and an artist. Born in Kfar Saba, son of a Prisoner of Zion who worked with the Mossad to bring Ethiopian Jews to Israel. His connection to cooking began at home, out of a desire to learn and preserve traditional Ethiopian cuisine. He went on to build his professional experience in Tel Aviv's leading kitchens. His culinary and artistic practice is rooted in an exploration of Black, Ethiopian, and Israeli identity - and in the connection between African heritage and contemporary technique.
